20-year-old Detroit native Danielle Abela knows how to beat the heat and still look fashionable. While she’s on the job at Pitaya in Royal Oak, her outfit looks work-appropriate, though cool in her navy-and-white-striped maxi skirt, which she bought at Pitaya. Pairing the skirt with a jean jacket and white tank-top from Forever 21, Abela shows us how combining several basic pieces can create the perfect daytime look. By adding simple accessories, like her Hamsa necklace from etsy.com, a gift from her boyfriend, and Fossil watch, Abela ties the whole thing together, creating the perfect casual look for both work or a day on the town.

Tank … Forever 21 … $3

Jean Jacket … Forever 21 … $20

Maxi Skirt … Pitaya … $16

Shoes … Aldo … $30

Watch … Fossil … $200

Necklace … Etsy … gift
