Dance! American Art 1830-1960 is one of the most anticipated exhibitions at the DIA in 2016. The exhibition features more than 90 sculptures, paintings, photographs, and costumes that feature and explain the culture of American dance. There is a preview party before the exhibition opens. There will be breakdancing performances by local Detroit dancers and the Detroit Square Dance Society will have a string band, too. Hor d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be available.
