Blowout bonanza!

OK, 230-plus bands later, we're exhausted. That is, words fail us. But they say a photo is worth a certain number of words (we forget how many; too damn tired), so take a gander at some of the spectacular shots presented here. Keep in mind that — from the topical rap of BlackReign & Ohkang to the punk mania of Human Eye to the crazed eccentricities of Champions of Breakfast — this is just a very small sample of what one could experience and savor at Hamtramck Blowout 11. (There're also many mouthfuls of reportage on the Music Blahg by several Blowout foot soldiers.) The bands delivered ... as did the fans. It's the biggest local music festival in the United States, folks. Motor City, take a proud bow. You deserve it.

Shall we also tip our hat to all the bands, event producer Eve Doster Knepp, MT publisher Lisa Rudy and all the interns and employees who made the thing happen? Why, yes we should. —Bill Holdship
