Antônia is a moving film which tells the story of four young women in Brazil. Blessed with musical talent, life-long friends strive to remake their lives. But sexism, racism and violence block their path and disrupt their bond. Their deep-rooted sisterhood is their greatest hope for restoration and a return to love. After the screening, Black students from Rio de Janeiro will lead a discussion. Proceeds from this event will benefit the new nonprofit Irwin House Global Art Center and Gallery.
