Americana Noir band Big John Bates, from Vancouver BC, is touring their new album From The Bestiary To The Leathering Room (2015). The album was written and sung by the dynamic arco-upright bassist, Montana’s own, Brandy Bones and eclectic guitarist Big John Bates. The lyrics have her Western Montanan resonance and his Southern Ontario Gothic style with themes that include religious imagery, death, addiction, betrayal and moral hypocrisy. They craft their symphonic rock’n’roll in a Cascadian setting - and reveal the dark places.
