Phenomenally popular because chef, co-owner and Seville native Pilar Baron-Hidalgo is making authentic Spanish tapas: simple, excellent ingredients that have not been fussed with or fussed over. Giant sardines, calamari with aioli, spinach with garbanzos, grilled shrimp with dried peppers, thick cocido soup with shredded pork, chicken and pork belly — there’s not a misstep on the menu. Daily specials include paella every Tuesday. With all prices $4-$8, affordable Spanish wines and housemade sangria, it’s no wonder the tiny place is jammed.
