An initiative of Detroit Bike City, Slow Roll is a low-key weekly bike ride that draws a few hundred people and offers a look of the city some may typically not be able to see. Typically, a group takes off from a local establishment, heads around the city for a bit, then concludes the evening over drinks and food. The ride caught the attention of Detroit City Council last year over complaints of clogged roads and stopped traffic. (Hey! They are traffic!) But, if anything, it’s a friendly, organic event that certainly has been undercovered by the press.
