Since 2010, the stated mission of 4 Paws 1 Heart is to lower the homeless cat and dog population through a number of means: paying for medical treatment and placing animals in permanent home. With the number of reports over the last year on Detroit having an out-of-control feral dog population, which was later determined to likely be grossly overstated, it’s always heartening to be reminded that some groups are focused on the issue — no matter what the size of the population. The group says it has placed hundreds of animals in homes, and continues to work to answer the medical needs of animals they take in.
