Summer might be over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy the beauty of Belle Isle. Sure the weather is chilly, but the folks at the Belle Isle Conservancy want you to enjoy all the holiday wonder the island park has to offer. The aquarium, conservatory, and Dossin Great Lakes Museum will all be open from 5 to 8 p.m. with free admission, plus there will be holiday music, free mulled cider, and Dutch Girl Donuts at the conservatory for as long as they last. New teddy bears will be collected at the aquarium and conservatory for the Michigan State Police “Trooper Teddy” program. New toys can be dropped off at the museum for Toys for Tots. While the event is free, a recreation passport is required to drive onto the island.
