Axis: Sova

with the Hamtramck Music Fest pairs Chicago’s Axis: Sova with Detroit’s Feelings and Jenny Jr. A:S will be playing tracks off the brand new album, Early Surf, just released on Ty Segall’s hilariously-titled God? Records, a subsidiary of Drag City. Axis: Sova is a solo, guitar-based project that throws heavy riffs together with drum machines, piling on fuzz and flange and distortion and wah-wah with occasional phasing keyboards and reverbed-to-hell vocals. Song titles include “Ask Me About My Smell” and “Dictator of a Flower.” This will most likely be an awesome show; get there early.
