"American Hardcore: The History of American Punk"

Courtesy photo
Punk didn’t just happen overnight. Or did it? In conjunction with the museum’s current exhibition Too Fast to Live, Too Young to Die: Punk Graphics, Cranbrook will screen the premiere documentary deep-dive into the birth of punk and the movement’s earliest pioneers. An official Sundance Film Festival selection in 2006, the Paul Rachman-directed film consists of underground footage, exclusive interviews, and iconic clips from Negative FX’s final show, as well as the riot that ensued after the power was cut mid-song, filmed by the director himself.
