Author and social worker Janice Fialka will be discussing her latest book on the groundbreaking journey of her son who challenged the stigma and stereotypes of being labeled "neurologically impaired" and "low I.Q." to become a university teaching assistant and disability activist. “What Matters: Reflections on Disability, Community, and Love” chronicles the support and confidence Janice’s son Micah Fialka Feldman received that enabled him to break barriers and far exceed expectations of someone measured as having an IQ of 40.
