Last year, Detroit indie rockers Bonny Doon delivered an achingly self-aware self-titled debut that bummed us out in the best possible way.

They return with the second single from their upcoming record Longwave due out March 23 (Woodsist Records). "A Lotta Things" debuted on Noisey today and let's just say we've totally been there.

"I should be happy/but I'm not/I should be grateful, I know/but I'm not," Doon's Bill Lennox delivers with a shrugging sense of acceptance. "I'm faking my own death so I can get some rest/I know, I thought of everything." Paired with lamenting guitar, patient percussions, and a veil of unresolved regret make "A Lotta Things" feel like a playful punch to the gut.

Lennox told Noisey that he likes the song's simple message, “like a feeling of this sort of cosmic uncertainty that a lot of people I know are now experiencing in their mid-to-late 20s. We're always looking for more fulfillment and to feel more free.”
