Savoy Brown plays tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Magic Bag. They were among the first British blues-rock acts, and they’ve taken several turns along the way, but Savoy Brown spent much of the 1970s crafting heavy blues boogie that at times approached the brilliance of the Groundhogs.
Back since Grande days, the band has had a special relationship with Detroit, even dedicating a 20-minute song on their 1969 record, A Step Further, to Detroit fans. The band is currently a trio, and this is their 50th anniversary.
Starts at 8 p.m.; 22920 Woodward Ave., Ferndale; 248-544-3030; themagicbag.com; tickets are $25.
