In our recent Detroit People Issue, we profiled Matthew Naimi, the man behind the scenes of Recycle Here, Lincoln Street Art Park, and Green Living Science — three intertwined entities that serve to help Detroiters recycle.

We'd be remiss to point out that Green Living Science is currently in the middle of a fundraising campaign to help get more households in Detroit recycling. Aside from recycling education, a sizeable obstacle for some households is the $25 fee for a recycling bin.

Green Living Science hosts free recycling workshops that teach people how to reduce their waste and take advantage of Detroit's curbside recycling program. They are currently accepting donations — a $25 allows Green Living Science to provide a recycling bin voucher for any household that takes part in the workshops. Rizzo Environmental Services has pledged that they will match up to 65 bins for their service area.
