Did ICP & their labelmate Jumpsteady rip off these Ohio goths, twice?

The website Cleveland.com reports today that Insane Clown Posse's label Psychopathic was sued Friday in the Northern District of Ohio by Midnight Syndicate, a duo based in Ohio who make spooky soundtrack music for small-budget films and video games.

This suit is against the Psychopathic rapper Jumpsteady, and alleges that entire chunks of his album The Road was made using large swaths of Midnight Syndicate's music. It also turns out that the Midnight Syndicate also sued ICP directly for the same type of violations in 2011, and that case was settled out of court.

If any of this is true, why the heck didn't the music get cleared first — or why weren't Midnight Syndicate (Edward Douglas and Gavin Goszka) simply signed to the label? Do ICP have something against top hats? That could be it — fucking top hats. And vests. And puffy sleeves! Oh my, what puffy sleeves.
