LUX INTERIOR, RIP.

"Rock 'n' roll is so great that everyone in the world should think it's the greatest thing that's happening. If they don't, they're turds." -- Lux Interior (who passed away last night due to complications from a heart condition)

Lux and Poison Ivy (surely one of the longest unions in all of rockdom) liked to tell of driving to Detroit to see shows -- such as David Bowie's performance as "Ziggy Stardust" at the Fisher Theater -- since this was the closest many of the tours got to Akron, Ohio...so it's, in many ways, it's like losing one of our own. Which is true simply if you just love rock 'n' roll. And has been pointed out numerous places over the years, their early bass-less rock abandon was obviously a major influence on the White Stripes.

Super bummer. He'll really be missed.

The late Bryan Gregory (a Detroit native) and Lux Interior: Fantastic stuff...

And here they are, in 1984, performing a Detroit song...at California's NAPA mental hospital, no less:
