CHERIE CURRIE & "THE RUNAWAYS"...TONIGHT...FOR FREE!

We're a little late on this -- have been swamped all day -- but The Runaways movie is making its area debut tonight at the Magic Bag in Ferndale at 8:30 p.m. What's even better is that the admission is the right price -- which is to say, it's free! And Runaways lead vocalist Cherie Currie will be in town to do an in-person question and answer session following the flick. Admission is on a first come/first served basis...and you need to be 21 to get in.

And speaking of the Magic Bag and screenings (and just so we can be extra-early on this one), When You're Strange: A Film About The Doors will be shown at the theater (but, alas, not for free) on Wednesday, April 21st. The flick uncovers historic and previously unseen footage of Jim Morrison and those other three guys, "providing new insight into the revolutionary impact of their music and legacy," at least according to the press release Willy Wilson sent us! Seriously, it's been getting pretty rave reviews. The flick was directed by award-winning writer/director Tom DiCillo and narrated by Johnny Depp. We'll remind you again closer to the actual date...
