Handbook offers young students lessons on fighting the system

Interesting: We've regarded the 1980s as the best time to be a student in this country. Since then, Supreme Court rulings regarding student freedom have become more restrictive, zero tolerance policies have been instituted, students are surveilled and profiled for any "threatening" portents, campuses have become closed, and officials have become integrated with law enforcement. It has gotten to the point where schools are compared to prisons, and not without cause. Cevin Soling made a film a little more than five years ago called The War on Kids that looked at the way education and liberty have taken a back seat to inculcation and control. 

So we were heartened to learn that Soling, who once attended the University of Michigan, has put out a book called The Student Resistance Handbook. In it, Soling details actions students can take that will "make those who work for and support schools as miserable as they make the students who are forced to attend." Sounds fascinating.
