As these issues and others surround electronic music in Detroit, the pulse continues on.
Linda G. (known for bringing many world-renowned artists to
Motor Detroit and
Science) and BTM Productions (responsible for numerous underground parties including those with Eminem and Wu-Tang Clan) have joined forces to use the area under the Ambassador Bridge as a venue for upcoming events. Many have fond memories of the legendary indoor/outdoor space with views of the Detroit River, Windsor and the downtown Detroit skyline. The partners have secured permits to ensure legal and safe parties, which will begin Friday, Aug. 8 with the hard house sounds of
Frankie Bones, the trance of
Dr. Trance and
Gilligan, the disco house of
Terrence Parker and an additional house set from
Manic. Upcoming events include a CD release party for Richard “Humpty” Vission’s
Shut the F*** Up and Dance and a performance from Darius. Call the BTM Productions info line at 248-788-7000 or Linda G.’s info line at 313-438-4146 for more information.
