City Slang: Jeff German and the Blankety Blanks CD release party

Native Detroiter Jeff German and his Columbus, Ohio-based band the Blankety Blanks will host a CD release party at the Corktown Tavern on Friday, December 6.

Locals may remember German for his work with bands like the Flyin’ Saucers and the Curdogs, as well as his work with Lydia Loveless. Also on the bill is Ann Arbor country band Hawks, and Nick Pivot.

German is back in town to celebrate the release of his new Twelve R.O.U.N.D.S. album. A statement reads, “Describing his music as ‘Midwest music for the working class,’ the CD is best played loud and served with a cold beer after a long week. Jeff German and his Band continue to speak musical truth the way they see it. They wouldn’t have it any other way.”

The action starts at 9 p.m., and cover is $5.
