Four Michigan bands - Birmingham’s the Flaks, Fenton’s Empire! Empire!, Clawson’s Trotsky and Grand Rapids’ This is the Year - will play a show with two Philadelphia bands, Glocca Morra and Luther, at the Genesis Church (South Hall), 309 N. Main St., Royal Oak.
The show starts at 7 p.m., and they say, “No drugs, no booze, no racism, ageism, sexism, or homophobia.”
Ben Yost of the Flaks says, “This is all well thought out, and DIY. It's going to be the first show in while without that “harder-core than thou, B.S.”sinse back when the Suicide Machines gigged with ‘For Dire Life Sake’. The people coming are young and in it for the music. Anyone who doesn't come will be missing out.”
