City Slang: The Dirtbombs to play ATP

Detroit’s own Dirtbombs will perform at the All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival in New York on September 21-23.

This year, the festival is curated by Afghan Whigs man Greg Dulli, and his band are the headliners at the Pier 36 venue in Manhattan.

Besides the Dirtbombs and the Whigs, other bands set to perform include Philip Glass & Tyondai Braxton, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, the Roots, Mark Lanegan, Hot Snakes, Lightning Bolt and Quintron.

The event was originally intended to be at Asbury Park. "We hope that the new venue will make for an incredible event and open up many other accommodation options to fans who were unable to find rooms in Asbury Park," comments ATP's Barry Hogan. "We sincerely apologise to those inconvenienced by the move and hope that any problems caused may be minimised by the relatively small distance between the two locations. Anyone who is unable to attend due to the move or due to the cancellation of Louis CK can claim a full refund by contacting their ticket agent between now and July 31st."

All Tomorrow’s Parties, worldwide, is one of the more fascinating festivals on the calendar and this year’s NYC event looks to be as eclectic and exciting as ever. Obviously, the Dirtbombs will rule.
