The Metro Times is pleased to announce that news editor Curt Guyette is a recipient of the Michigan Bar Association's Wade H. McCree Jr. Award for the Advancement of Justice.
Guyette is being honored for his cover story "Circle of lies," which takes an in-depth look at a Wayne County case involving a judge and assistant county posecutor who knowingly allowed police officers to provide perjured testimony in the trial of an accused drug dealer.
It is the second straight year Guyette has been honored by the Bar Association for his coverage of legal issues.
The award will be presented during the Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Sunday, April 22, at Michigan State University's Kellogg Center. Other recipients of this year's award include the Detroit Free Press, MLive Media Group/Grand Rapids Press, Michigan Radio and Detroit television station WXYZ-TV.
