Coachella Line-Up Announced -- Detroit Gets Snubbed

If you haven't heard already, the 2012 Coachella Music Festival line-up is announced. Somehow, someway, Detroit got totally snubbed. I could be missing something or maybe my eyes are bad. Judging by the poster above, Detroit musicians got stiff-armed this year and it makes no sense.

No Danny Brown, no Dale Earnhart Jr. Jr., no Bad Meets Evil, no Mayer Hawthorne, no Black Milk and Jack White, nothing. We got the goose egg. Regardless of how many names I could potentially list, the fact is Detroit won't be in the house. Maybe that's a good thing.

There are still some interesting facts about the highly lauded California music festival this year, including the fact that for the first time, it's taking place over two consecutive weekends. Coachella is a six day affair for the first time and there are plenty of acts worth checking out. Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg are headlining -- which gives thought to the fact that maybe Eminem will make an appearance -- and top acts like Radiohead, the Black Keys, M83, Bon Iver and Fitz and the Tantrums will be there as well. That's fine, but compared to other years, the Coachella line-up this year sucks. It's basically a tony music soiree in the desert created by and for rich people thus Detroit wouldn't really fit in anyway.

We've still got the MT Blowout. Coachella can go and suck it.
