Reality TV Stars Headline Arab American Comedy Night at AANM Nov. 3

All American Muslim, the new eight-part TLC reality series taped on location in and around Dearborn, doesn't premiere until Sunday, Nov. 13. But you can get a live sneak peek of sorts this week.

Billy Amen and Nader Aoude, sketch comedians whose lives are featured in the series, are part of the bill for a night of comedy and music at the Arab American National Museum (AANM) as part of its Global Thursdays series at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3. The museum is located at 13624 Michigan Ave. in Dearborn.

Amen, director of operations for a local youth sports organization, and Aoude, a proud father-to-be who's eager to begin raising his first child in a normal American household with his new wife, Nawal, both are among the Dearborn residents profiled in the series, which examines the misconceptions and differences faced by a diverse cross-section of Arab Americans in the outside world as well as within their own community.

The evening of entertainment at the AANM will be directed and co-produced by Mike Mosallam, a co-executive director of the All American Muslim series and director of the Wayne County Film Initiative. Chicago-based comedian Khaled the Comic (Khaled Taha) will host the concert, which will include appearances by Ali "Bulldog" Abdallah, Sarah Bazzi, Ali Beydoun, Janice Freij, Amir Makled and Ann Arbor singer-songwriter Hana Malhas.

Tickets for the evening are $10 ($9 for AANM members). They are available in advance online only at www.arabamericanmuseum.org, and at the door the day of the show. Call (313) 582-2266 for more information.
