Atwater is back, both the name and the concept of a great brewery with great food. Expect the original Atwater beers with "very, very good pub food." That will mean regional and seasonal specials and such German specialties as wiener schnitzel.
Casual waterfront dining, open year 'round. Daily specials.
Bonzai Bob's Mongolian Grill is a make-your-own stir-fry place. Choose from a wide variety of meats, poultry and seafood, add fresh vegetables, oils, sauce and spices then watch our cooks grill it for you. There's a large non-smoking area, full dessert and appetizer menus, and also a children's menu. An eclectic decor, including hand-painted floors and tables and the original floor from the 1960s bowling alley, makes this a great spot for dinner for two or a fun place for a party. A thatched roof bar and a Key West, Hemingway-style room for relaxing with cigars and martinis complete the feel. Be sure to sample a Mighty Mongolian flaming drink! A wide variety of entertainment takes place throughout the week, including dueling pianos, blues, comedy, jazz, acoustic guitars and much more. There's a large dance floor and stage, with hula hoops on the dance floor for added fun. All ages are welcome.
Steak dominates the fare and there’s nothing on the menu that would make a meat-and-potatoes lover squirm. Six dishes under the heading “VIP” are flambéed at two stations in the dining room. All of the entrées we tried were very good: seafood strudel ($16.95), fettuccine carbonara (prepared with chicken), veal Marsala, seafood marinara ($17.95). Sides are predictable, such as green beans. Soup or salad comes with entrees; the clam chowder, which we had in both the New England and Manhattan variations, is terrific. Service is a serious issue that needs attention from management.
A burger lover's institution since 1990. Great beer list, generous pours, and a contemporary wine list. T-shirts and underwear dress code. Our menu was voted by the Michigan Restaurant Association in 1998 as best under $10 per guest. The baby back ribs, oversized salads and sandwiches round out the award winning menu.
