Tender, fluffy gnocchi of ricotta and spinach come surrounded with a rich sauce, and veal saltimbocca arrives on soft layers of rapini and gnocchi, resting in a silky Marsala sauce.     With several successful restaurants already operating around the country, McCormick & Schmick’s has chosen to open its newest location adjacent to the Somerset Collection South, near Saks Fifth Avenue. Offering fine dining with an emphasis on seafood, the restaurant is modeled after classic, traditional fish houses found on the East and West coasts. The dining room is dressed in warm mahogany paneling, stained-glass ceilings and fixtures, and brass accents. "Snugs" or booths for up to seven guests can be curtained off for privacy.

    "The menu changes daily in keeping with the tradition of offering the finest, freshest seafood available," says executive chef Mark Kelly. In fact, the restaurant is so committed to serving fresh seafood that it doesn’t even have a freezer.

    The cigar-friendly bar serves hand-shaken drinks with fresh-squeezed juices, plus a wide assortment of beers, microbrews, wines and spirits (including an extensive collection of single-malt scotches).
