In the summer months, historic Kerrytown's Aut Bar spills out onto a quiet courtyard it has nearly all to itself. Functioning as a restaurant and a bar (the second level is 21 and older only), the kitchen was formerly only open at night, But there's now a popular weekend brunch Saturday (10 a.m.- 2 p.m.) and Sunday (10a.m.-3 p.m.) For brunch, Mexican specialties are standouts, including breakfast burritos or huevos motulenos — layers of corn tortilla, eggs, and black beans with ranchero sauce, diced ham, peas and cheese on top. Even the standard omelet gets a twist, like the take-off from meat and cheese in their turkey and gouda. The Aut Bar is definitely gay-friendly, catering to the LGBT community and their friends, families, and allies.

The Belmont is a place where everyone can feel comfortable. Whether you're a rocker, a dancer or just looking for a neighborhood bar to chat and shoot some stick, The Belmont can accomodate you. Anyone can show up here. Detroit's only late night jazz club serving up Cajun catfish and red beans and rice all night long. It's not common to find a bar where everyone seems to know each other and yet newcomers don't feel excluded. Dozens of regulars turn up Thursdays for the open mic jazz jam sessions. Bert's serves the music fans bargain-price soul food from rows of steam tables: meat and two sides for nine bucks, or up to $25 for a whole slab of ribs. In keeping with Bert's bare-bones, working-class atmosphere, their food is more down-home than much of the soul food you find in restaurants, which has often been upgraded from its humble origins.
This is one of Metro-Detroit's oldest gathering spots. Originally opened just after the Great Depression, this Dearborn tavern has been fully renovated for the new millennium. Hardwood floors and rich mahogany appointments set the tone for this spacious bar. With new pool tables, shuffle board, darts and more there is always a challenge to be met. A premium sound system plays energized "dance" music from the 60's thru today at a volume you can talk over. The coldest direct draft beer system available offers imports and premiums along with 14 bottled choices. Catch the game on one of our three T.V.s or just hang out.
A unique European pub-like atmosphere with board games and puzzles. No television or food. Bring your own food, or order food to be delivered at the bar. Recently awarded Best Amber Ale and Best Belgian Ale at the 2001 World Expo of Beer in Frankenmuth, Michigan, and Best Dark Ale at Chicago's Real Ale Festival.
