This is what sets Archie's apart from many other restaurants. Dinners in our family have always been special, a time when we all get together to enjoy good food and good company. That's why we believe in "homemade" freshness when preparing your meal.

Known for its attractive atmosphere and creative menu, Assaggi's menu skips along the northern coast of the Mediterranean from Spain to Lebanon. There's seating for 80 in the al fresco patio, where a garden of tomatoes, peppers, basil, flowers and other herbs — and statuary including reproductions of the "Venus de Milo" and Michelangelo's "David" — conjure the atmosphere of Tuscany. And, happily, the sound of the fountain drowns out the traffic on Nine Mile Road.

  • Aut Bar

315 Braun Court, Ann Arbor Washtenaw County

    (734) 9943677; (734) 1396 (FAX)

In the summer months, historic Kerrytown's Aut Bar spills out onto a quiet courtyard it has nearly all to itself. Functioning as a restaurant and a bar (the second level is 21 and older only), the kitchen was formerly only open at night, But there's now a popular weekend brunch Saturday (10 a.m.- 2 p.m.) and Sunday (10a.m.-3 p.m.) For brunch, Mexican specialties are standouts, including breakfast burritos or huevos motulenos — layers of corn tortilla, eggs, and black beans with ranchero sauce, diced ham, peas and cheese on top. Even the standard omelet gets a twist, like the take-off from meat and cheese in their turkey and gouda. The Aut Bar is definitely gay-friendly, catering to the LGBT community and their friends, families, and allies.
