Tragic heroine Antigone defies her uncle, Creon, and buries her brother, Polynices, despite Creon’s edict banning the act. She is caught and imprisoned but refuses to acquiesce to her uncle or sister in order to save herself. Bray’s translation of Anouilh’s modern adaptation of the Greek story is a powerful piece that stands up to time and authority. $15

Five to seven sukkahs, selected through Detroit’s largest international design competition, will be displayed in Detroit’s historic Capitol Park, accompanied by complementary programs and events. Design drawings and renderings will be exhibited at Eastern Market After Dark in Shed 3 on September 20th. This weeklong event provides an opportunity for all to explore the relevance of an ancient ritual in a contemporary urban environment, and to showcase Detroit on a national and international stage.
