Rusty Bucket Restaurant and Tavern Hosts Coat Drive to Benefit the Salvation Army

Rusty Bucket Restaurant and Tavern will hold its annual coat drive Nov. 5, 2018 through Feb. 1, 2019. All guests are encouraged to donate new and/or gently used coats of all sizes which will be donated to the Salvation Army and distributed to those in need this winter season. A total of 8,669 coats have been donated since the coat drive began in 2011. Collection boxes are located in all four metro Detroit Rusty Bucket locations: 30450 Telegraph Rd., Bingham Farms; 42874 Woodward Ave., Bloomfield Hills; 18785 Traditions Dr., Northville and 15400 Sheldon Rd., Northville. America's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Before you stuff yourself with turkey and get into an argument with your Trump-voting family (Aunt Becky, we see you!) America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade returns for its 92nd year to deliver pure, unadulterated joy. Six new floats will make their debut alongside crowd favorites, all leading up to an appearance by the man, the myth, the jolly legend — Santa friggin’ Clause. CBS sportscaster Jim Nantz will serve as the parade’s grand marshal and will be joined by Disney Channel star Sofia Wylie, former Detroit Tiger Jack Morris, Boston Marathon winner Desiree Linden, and Broadway’s Aladdin star Korie Lee Blossey. Members of Aretha Franklin’s family will also join the parade with a performance from Cass Tech High School Marching Band. free

The holiday themed event celebrating black Friday and will feature over 30 artists with a focus on Detroit areas finest musicians, artist and performers! This year we are featuring a fashion show by Happy Hookers Detroit with international cover model Booty Van Bael and puppy models courtesy of The Caine Workshop! Also we welcome back the Return of the Drunken Santa Photobooth courtesy of The Detroit Photobooth Co. Tickets are $10 at the door or $5 if you dress up in $10 or $5 if you dress up in festive attire.

Get a glimpse into the society scene of the 1960s as the Fords’ historic home is authentically decorated as it was during the glittering holiday receptions Mrs. Eleanor Ford hosted to honor her granddaughters in the ‘60s, each celebrating her debutante season. On a ‘Holiday Belles’ tour, hear stories of these grand receptions. Admire the fresh mix of traditional holiday décor and twists like spring colors, beautifully re-created from archival photos -- including Christmas trees suspended from the ceiling!
