Global Glass: A Survey of Form and Function is a remarkable exhibition drawn from the extensive glass collection own by the University of Michigan- Dearborn. The exhibition surveys important artists and works created from the mid-1960s to the present. Global Glass examines both functional glass objects and pure sculptural forms that have often taken cues from other fine arts media and movements in the U.S. and internationally. Among the 56 artists represented are glass giants Harvey Littleton, Howard Ben Tré, Dale Chihuly, Ann Robinson, and Kate Vogel. 313-593-5087

University of Detroit Mercy’s Libraries / Instructional Design Studio presents "Total Sensory Freak-out: Detroit's Zeitgeist Collective, 1997 to 2008." This art exhibit documents the 11-year life of the independent, community-run art gallery and theater. The library is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. This is the sixth exhibit in a series showcasing Detroit’s cultural history and curated by Maurice Greenia, Jr., who has selected playbills, postcards, original artworks, newspaper articles and other items from his collection. A new sport for skaters is in the works! The Lexus Velodrome track in Detroit, Michigan has created a common ground for all types of skaters! The Lexus Velodrome is now sharing the curved track with inline skaters, as they are launched around the slopes at speeds up to 30mph! 8-10 PM, Spoke Easy Bar open late, and open access to the Velodrome tracks! Rental skates are available, helmets are required!
