A Midsummer Night's Dream

Fri., Feb. 15, 7:30-10:30 p.m.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream– one of Shakespeare’s most beloved and witty comedies, is brought to vivid life in an innovative new production by the Aquila Theatre. Full of memorable characters- Puck, Oberon, Hermia, and Nick Bottom- and the famous “play within a play” A Midsummer Night’s Dream deals with the universal theme of love, and its attendant complications: passion, lust, frustration, depression, confusion, and marriage. Aquila Theatre weaves a web of theatrical magic that takes audiences to the heart of an enchanted forest while witnessing the injustice of the Athenian court and the political strife of the fairy kingdom.

Natalie MacMaster

Fri., March 8, 8-11 p.m.

One of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia’s most important exports and a superstar in the celtic music world (though she’s far too humble to admit it), fiddler and step-dancer Natalie MacMaster has built a sterling, multi-decade career on electrifying playing and must-see live performances. Her extensive discography showcases MacMaster as both soloist and marquee collaborator, notably with husband and fellow fiddler, Donnell Leahy. An order of Canada is among many accolades the Ontario-based mother of six has received in recognition of her peerless artistic status.

Black Violin

Fri., April 26, 8-11 p.m. and Sat., April 27, 2-5 p.m.

BACK in Flint by an overwhelming demand! In an age where music is coming to be more and more defined by the labels given to it, Black Violin shows that music does not exist within a box, but rather exists in another space – one as open and unrestrained as the minds that produce it.
