Drake

Tue., Aug. 14, 7 p.m. and Wed., Aug. 15, 7 p.m.

Aubrey “Drake” Graham first rolled into our hearts in 2001 as the wheelchair-bound basketball star on Degrassi: The Next Generation, and we dare say no one could have guessed he would become the Champagne Papi we’ve come to worship. Started from the bottom and alas, here we are. Ever since he left the city, we’ve been waiting for Drake to call us on our cell phone — or at least come back to Detroit, seeing that it’s been a two-year drought without our beloved Drizzy, and we are thirsty. Now, we have the double record Scorpion, Drake’s fifth studio album, to thank for his return. Drake is joined on the tour by Migos in what is sure to be a night of hip-hop to remember. $59.50+

Wicked

Tuesdays-Sundays. Continues through Sept. 2

Before there was Dorothy — and her little dog, too — there was Glinda (the Good Witch) and Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West), two friends from opposite sides of the poppy field. Opposing personalities and viewpoints collide (namely, that of their reactions to the Wizard’s corrupt government), which leads to Elphaba’s eventual journey into wickedness. With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Godspell), Wicked the musical combines the alternative telling of the trippy and timeless classic film with Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. $63+
