Danny Brown's Bruiser Thanksgiving V

Wed., Nov. 21, 7 p.m.

In the past year, Danny Brown announced a new record, underwent a dental makeover, made an appearance in the film White Boy Rick, and released an unofficial mixtape via the gaming service Twitch. Oh, and he gave some sound advice: “Never spend $70,000 on samples for an album that no one buys ‘cause you will be in debt.” As is the norm for Detroit’s favorite smile, Brown has cleared his holiday schedule to bring it all back home for his annual Bruisier Thanksgiving celebration. For its fifth spin, he’s taking it to the roller rink with Valee, Jpegmafia, Bruiser Brigade, Bearcat, Sam Austins, and others. $30

ELF: The Musical

Wed., Nov. 21, 7:30 p.m., Fri., Nov. 23, 2 & 7:30 p.m., Sat., Nov. 24, 10 a.m., 3 & 8 p.m. and Sun., Nov. 25, 2 p.m.

You can’t keep this elf on the shelf. OK, so Will Ferrell may not be reprising his role as everyone’s favorite oversized non-elf elf, Buddy, but returning this year to the Fox Theatre is ELF: The Musical, a fresh take on Buddy’s journey from the North Pole to the Big Apple in search of his birth father, true identity, and some dang spaghetti and maple syrup. Inspired by the 2003 new Christmas classic, ELF: The Musical is a classic in its own right with a slew of original songs, holiday hijinks, and lots and lots of sugar. $35+
