Abjeez

Tue., Nov. 21, 8 p.m.

What’re your thoughts on Persian Swedish world pop fusion? Nothing? Well, let’s change your mind. Iranian-born sisters Melody and Safoura Safavi formed Abjeez in 2005. The result? A totally wild ride. Known for their subversive take on taboo subjects in a range of stylistic attitudes, Abjeez are across the board all over the board and therefore borderless. A mashup of reggae, ska, and rock, the Safavi sisters (and respective bandmates) manage a hypnotic blend of play and power you don’t have to speak the language to feel Abjeez’s unique global groove. $20-25

Halsey, PartyNextDoor, and Charli XCX

Tue., Nov. 21, 8 p.m.

“Bad at Love” singer Halsey might seem like the new girl on the block, but thanks to a boost from DJ duo the Chainsmokers and their hit “Closer” she’s quickly becoming a radio-dominating force all her own. Spending most of 2015 opening for acts like Imagine Dragons and the Weeknd pushing her debut record Badlands Halsey (an anagram of her first name Ashley… cute) paved the way for her 2017 Romeo and Juliet-inspired chart-topping Hopeless Fountain Kingdom. This time she’s headlining, and has enlisted PartyNextDoor and Charlie XCX for support. $60
