Wayne State University's Opera Workshop presents two one-act operas by American composer Michael Ching. The bill includes “Buoso’s Ghost,” a modern day sequel to “Gianni Schicchi” composed by Giacomo Puccini ca. 1918. In it Schicchi, the mastermind, ”discovers” a note from the decreased Uncle Buoso Donati,all part of his scheme to outwit the greedy Donati family.. Also, see Ching’s “Speed Dating Tonight,” a comic opera about the hilarious world of speed dating. It follows a group of speed daters through their search for love. Adult tickets are $8. Students tickets are $5. Groups are welcome but please make arrangements for $8 / $5 students
