Crystals have revolutionized technology due to their ability to respond to a wide variety of energies such as heat, light and electricity. The ancients used crystals in the same way our technology does today, but instead of an electrical input, they utilized subtle energies, such as thought, emotion, and bioelectricity. Today, we are rediscovering how we can use crystals for better health, happiness and healing. Join Teanne as she guides you through an introduction about the who, what, where, when and why of crystals and sage smudging, and how you can use them for self development, protection and growth.

@ Bobcat Bonnie’s, 200 W. Michigan Ave., Ypsilanti, MI 48197
When a down-on-his luck wannabe actor arrives in New York City at the end of the year, the only employment he can find is at Macy’s department store -- working in Santaland for the holiday season, as a reluctant, but cheerful elf. Based on his beloved humorous and autobiographical essays, David Sedaris’ The Santaland Diaries is a wry and witty look at the combination of retail hell and theatrical spectacle that is the holiday season, a sharp, narrowly observed dark comedy.

The Second Annual Wreck the Halls with Dear Darkness, Pet Psychic, and more

Sat., Dec. 14, 7 p.m.
Kelly's Bar 2403 Holbrook Ave., Hamtramck Hamtramck

Have you checked your list once? How about twice? Have you decided who’s been naughty and who’s leading Detroit’s premier blood cult, or which band is cross-summoning the Shangri-Las with the death rattle of ’70s glam-punk? No need to labor over the holidays when you can just wreck the halls with Detroit bedroom punk duo Dear Darkness and some friends. Led by Stacey MacLeod, who organizes this annual event and is joined by Michelle Thibodeau on drums, Dear Darkness will share a stage with demon-rockers (and leaders of the aforementioned blood cult) SpaceSkull, as well as Detroit’s apocalyptic surf-rock trio Pet Psychic and Slob, whose 2018 self-titled EP calls to mind Courtney Love’s Hole, if Love were to channel late husband Kurt’s Bleach days. Toledo’s Snarly is also on the bill. 248-462-0889
