29 Taste Treats

As if you didn't need any more impetus, special eating opportunities abound these days. The Michigan Humane Society's annual Bow Wow Champagne Brunch is noon-3:30 p.m. Sunday (April 22) at the Ritz-Carlton Dearborn. WNIC's Jim Harper hosts the event with music by Classic Touch and a silent auction to benefit the Society. Call 313-871-2605, ext. 606 for reservations. The same day the Dearborn Tavern hosts a noon-5 p.m. spaghetti dinner benefit for the Dearborn Animal Shelter. For tickets, call 313-563-5211. The whole Foods Market has announced some menu additions kicking off in April to observe National Soy Month. And just in case you need something to wash it all down, Motor City Brewing works opens its Tap Room — located at 470 West Canfield, across from the Traffic Jam. The Tap Room will initially be open Fri.-Sat. from 8 p.m.-1 a.m. and Sundays 7 p.m.-midnight. Then on Monday (April 23) the Lake St. Clair Symphony Orchestra has its Pasta Fest 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Jefferson Yacht Club. Call Lillian at 313-777-8944.
