Clear Soul Forces: self described as "the answer to everything that you ever questioned about hip hop," this killer group will leave no questions unanswered when they headline the Majestic on June 21 with a huge cast of local openers.

Deadbeat Beat: There's a reason this group has been mentioned already as opening for every other good band. Catch them on June 20th @ UFO Factory June 24th @ El Club July 29-31 BFF Fest @ El Club

Dianna Ross: on recovery from a recent auto accident, this is THE Chene park summer series event. July 30th. Chene park. Be there.

George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic: There's no need to introduce this man or P-Funk. This show will be quite the experience. August 26 - the final 2016 4th Fridays event at Campus Martius Park.

The Gories: the classic garage-rock powerhouse doesn't play too often anymore, but you can catch them this summer with a killer local line up on August 5th supported by Pretty Ghouls and Mexican Knives @ El Club.

Growwing Pains: Self-described as "anxiety-pop," this group never fails to provide something new and interesting with their ever-evolving sound. Listen to their catchy and melodic punk tunes at their upcoming shows: June 20th @ UFO Factory with Deadbeat Beat and Savoy Motel July 2nd @ UFO Factory with Fred Thomas

Kickstand Band: this sunny power-pop-punk duo is headling on June 18 @ El Cub with plenty of other local talent.

Mexican Knives: I know they were just mentioned, but they deserve their own spot on this list. Their only other posted show so far this summer is on July 12th @ Painted Lady in Hamtramck.

Mountains and Rainbows: almost every local's favorite band, who has a record release show on the 24th @ El Club with Deadbeat Beat, Bonny Doon, and Feelings. 'Nuff said.

Protomartyr: these post-punkers have been riding the high of their last album, The Agent Intellect, and will surely carry over their tour energy at BFF Fest on July 29-31 @ El Club.

Pity Sex: hailing from Ann Arbor, this shoegaze band will leave your head filled with beautifully fuzzy melodies. They also just released a new album. Catch them on July 10th @ El Club.
