What do tampons, puppies, and Benjamin Franklin have in common? They were all seductive props in the video for “100 Bad” by Canadian bisexual fetish rapper and visual artist Tommy Genesis.

Such is par for the course when it comes to the up-and-coming queen of dirty talk, who has done a lot of naughty things on screen (writhing around in milky bathtub water, straddling motorcycles, and playing coy in a schoolgirl outfit come to mind). “Oh, you wanna get it, daddy?/ Let ’em smell the flower ’fore he go down,” she coos on “Daddy” which is, surprisingly, one of her more PG moments.

Tommy Genesis may have stepped away from her aggressive rap roots since releasing her commanding pop-heavy debut last year, on which she transforms trap beats into menacing fourplay. But she’s still rebelling against taboo NSFW declarations and the misconception that she has become a concept. At the very least, she’s a bad bitch (her words).

Tommy Genesis will perform at 9 p.m. on Friday, April 12 at El Club; 4114 W. Vernor Hwy., Detroit; 313-279-7382; Tickets are $15.
