Morrissey hates dance music, Robert Smith, Queen Elizabeth II, and meat — and he's coming to metro Detroit!

The former Smiths frontman, cantankerous vegan, and serial concert canceler hates a lot of things, but he's putting his gripes aside as he gears up to release a sunshine-y covers record with a supporting amphitheater tour that, statistically speaking, he may or may not postpone. Joining the tour are post-punk favorites Interpol, who are also gearing up to release new tunes next month.

The 14-date trek kicks off in Maryland and will visit Meadow Brook Amphitheatre on Friday, Sept. 13. The tour will follow the release of Morrissey's California Son, due out on May 24. The record finds the moody icon covering '60s and '70s songs by the likes of Roy Orbison, Carly Simon, Bob Dylan, and Joni Mitchell, and has enlisted members of Grizzly Bear, Broken Social Scene to collaborate, as well as Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong and singer Laura Pergolizzi, aka LP.

Morrisey last visited Detroit in 2017 when he performed at the Fillmore in support of Low in High School.

Tickets ($35) go on sale starting Friday, April 12 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased here
