If you’re going to use the term “acid booty bass” it better damn well be in reference to Jessica Phillippe, aka J.Phlip. The engineer-turned-DirtyBird crew member-turned-solo world traveler has bounced between her Chicago roots and San Francisco and has closed out Detroit’s own Movement Music Festival with her infectious and improvisational acid house blends. (Obviously, she’s also a highlight of the DirtyBird Campout.) While she is a master behind the decks, she can’t resist treasure hunting in record stores, to touch base with her underground roots. Sonya Alvarez is also on the bill.

J. Phlip will perform on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 9 p.m. at TV Lounge; 2548 Grand River Ave., Detroit; 313-965-4789; residentadvisor.net; $15.
