Singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson friggin’ loves Christmas.

For 11 years, the “The Way I Am” singer has thrown her annual Holiday Hop concert in New York City. While the event’s venue undergoes renovation, she upped the ante this year and took her Christmas obsession to new heights with her holiday record Songs for the Season. The 12-track album of old classics and original songs was recorded with a 35-piece symphony and features duets with Broadway’s Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr., vocalist and winner of season 11 of America’s Got Talent Grace VanderWaal, as well as Christina Perri and actor Will Chase.

The Ingrid Michaelson Trio will perform 'Songs for The Season' at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9 at the Royal Oak Music Theatre; 318 W. Fourth St., Royal Oak; 248-399-2980; royaloakmusictheatre.com; Tickets are $59+.
