Readers, we're pleased to announce a Metro Times exclusive: Stoic indie rockers Protmartyr are the previously teased "special guests" performing at the grand re-opening of Corktown's UFO Factory on Friday.

"It was known that we would probably do an interview with Metro Times and that would be the announcement that they're playing," UFO Factory co-owner Dion Fischer tells us. "So you can put that in there for sure."

Well, shit. Thanks! Then again, the clues were everywhere.

"Who are these mysterious special guests?" the event's Facebook page reads. "Umm, probably exactly who you think they are....? Trust us you will love these dispassionate and highly technical purveyors of song..." The URL for advance tickets was joeandthemartyrs.brownpapertickets.com.

"It's not really that much of a secret, but yeah," Fischer says.

Deadbeat Beat and Double Winter are also on the bill. The show kicks off a month's worth of events including DJ Jonathan Toubin's soul dance party on Saturday, Oct. 27 and Tyvek on Friday, Nov. 9, among others.

You can read about UFO Factory's grand re-opening in this week's issue. Protomartyr recently released an EP recorded with Kelley Deal of the Breeders; you can listen to "Wheel of Fortune" below.
