The last time Jack White appeared on Saturday Night Live Lindsey Lohan hosted and White was peddling his searing solo debut Blunderbuss.

Now, the same week the brooding, pale-faced rocker admitted that he has only listened to his own music for the past year, White returned to the late night stage this weekend in support of his "bizarre" new record Boarding House Reach. Sixteen years after the White Stripes SNL debut and White has traded in peppermint stripes for bruised tones of black and blue as he delivered two of the more accessible tracks from his perplexing mixed-bag of a chart-topping album.

For his first performance, White burned with a spastic take of  "Over and Over and Over" accompanied by a string of backup singers and a trio microphones.
He returned with "Connected by Love," a track that puts White's shrill, warble centerstage against the manic instrumentation and unstable verse/chorus structure  a cornerstone of Boarding House Reach.

White also appeared in a comedy sketch that was cut for time alongside host and the sketch's groom John Mulaney. Appearing as a mute guitarist at a wedding, White delivers a super-sexual ax solo after it is revealed that he is involved in a love triangle.

"Jack White played my wedding," Mulaney says, despite learning of his new wife's double infidelity.

Watch "Over and Over and Over" below and check out "Connected by Love" here.
