For the latest installment of his Reasons To Be Cheerful series, musician David Byrne called upon the Detroit School of Arts’ vocal jazz ensemble to perform their rendition of “Everybody’s Coming to My House” from Byrne’s latest LP American Utopia.

The homemade video, filmed in part by students of the radio and TV department, features the ensemble crowding around a piano in the home of their music teacher, Mrs. V.

"We're only tourists in this life," the ensemble sings, "Only tourists but the view is nice/Now everybody's coming to my house."

"When I saw what the DSA students did with my song, it completely changed the way I thought of it. In fact, it changed the meaning of the song — I realized it was about inclusion, welcoming, and not being alone," Byrne told Rolling Stone. "It's a more generous interpretation of the song than what I do with my voice."

The video is a segment from a mini-doc about the ensemble and can be viewed here. The streaming royalties from "Everybody's Coming To My House" will support the Detroit School of Arts.

David Byrne is slated to perform at the Fox Theatre on Aug. 10.
