Hailing from the U.K. (a place called London, to be exact) the deservedly feted label Diagonal Records is celebrating five years of existence with a U.S. tour which they’re thankfully bringing along here, to Mexicantown.

The event will be headlined by the absolutely brilliant Oscar Powell aka Powell, the genre-bending minimalist techno/noise producer and head of Diagonal. Along with the boss man, Russell Haswell and Not Waving will be performing live sets, while Jaime Williams and DJ Stingray will perform DJ sets. Five seriously cutting-edge yet accessible acts (it might be “weird,” but you can dance to it) in one night? Can’t beat that.

Doors at 9 p.m.; 4114 W. Vernor Hwy, Detroit;; Tickets are $10.
