No word yet on where and when this film will play in Detroit (we're hoping for a Third Man screening) but the much-ballyhooed, hyped, and discussed documentary about legendary music figure Danny Fields will be released digitally and to select theaters at the end of next month.

The movie is called Danny Says, and yesterday an official trailer for it was released. As this appears to be a golden era for well-wrought docs on interesting genres/ subcultures, we have high hopes for this one.

"Since 1966, Danny Fields has played a pivotal role in music and 'culture' of the late 20th century: working for The Doors, Lou Reed, Nico, Judy Collins and managing groundbreaking artists like The Stooges, The MC5 and the Ramones. Danny Says follows Fields from Harvard Law dropout, to the Warhol Silver Factory, to Director of Publicity at Elektra Records, to 'punk pioneer' and beyond."
